Job summary

Do you have great communication skills and an interest in delivering digital IT training? Would you like to work for a forward thinking, highly successful NHS organisation?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly-motivated individual to join the IT Training Team at Mid Mersey Digital Alliance.

The appointee would be joining the existing team to support the creation of high-quality training courses to support both the clinical and non-clinical workforce.

This role will enhance existing and develop new learning experiences for our staff and partners, providing challenge and development opportunities.

We are looking for a hands-on, self-starter who is passionate about education and training.

You will possess excellent communication/interpersonal skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a role to drive forward digital change within the Trust.

As part of the interview process you will be required to give a short presentation.

Main duties of the job

  • The IT Trainer will actively participate in IT project implementations and will be required to support project and program go-lives, ensuring users are trained and equipped to perform their roles fully.
  • This role will be expected to work closely with the Project Team to understand the IT Training requirements and timescales to ensure successful delivery of Trust IT enabled projects.
  • The individual will need to be able to design, deliver and access IT Training in accordance with the required process.

KEY DUTIES

  • Be responsible for the preparation and delivery of high-quality training for all staff working in collaboration with other members of the training team, on both clinical and non-clinical systems.
  • Develop appropriate end user training and reference materials.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain all training materials and related documentation and electronic aids including training manuals, certificates, hand-outs, and promotional materials according to Trust and national standards.
  • Produce relevant training course evaluation activities, including training exercises and tests where required, to be used during training sessions enabling trainees to reproduce work-related tasks.
  • Present all courses and represent the department in a professional manner, ensuring all queries received are answered to the best ability and any outstanding points raised are followed up.

  • Motivate users who are reluctant to embrace new IM&T skills and use powers of persuasion to enhance the benefits new skills will bring. This will include a variety of staff including senior clinicians and managers.

  • Adopt a positive approach to change management and communicate key business process changes effectively as part of the training and go-live support provided.
  • Act as a system champion, super user, floorwalker working onsite with staff who have a wide range of PC literacy and systems experience.

  • To collaborate with internal colleagues to design, develop and deliver high quality, engaging training materials that support effective learning.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an accurate and up to date Learning Management System (LMS) that includes scheduling, invitations, attendance, cancellations, failures to attend, evaluations, feedback etc.
  • Maintain an Issue log for issues without a fix or queries received as part of a training session that were not addressed.
  • Account creation for end users, rest password and Unblock smartcards for end users if required when supporting staff.

TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver effective training to end users during training sessions.
  • Ensure they are up to date with all mandatory training.
  • Ensure training is cascaded to all necessary staff.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Able to travel between sites which may be outside of normal working hours.
