A exciting opportunity has become available for the right candidate to join the Estates and Facilities Risk Assurance Team as a Risk Support Officer.
This role will contribute to the development and progression of the service, and play an important role in maintaining standards of safety across the Trust.
The Estates and Facilities Department is an exciting and challenging place to work, with a variety of specialities and expertise, utilised to benefit the Trust, its staff and patients.

Main duties of the job
We are pleased to inform you that the plans for St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust to come together as one new organisation have now been formally approved by the Secretary of State. Our new Trust will be called Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and will officially launch on Saturday 1st July 2023.

KEY DUTIES
- Provide and deliver the Trusts respiratory Fit testing service for all Trust employees, students and visitors as required (Quantitative and Qualitive)
- Support other departmental RPE Fit testers within the Trust, ensuring testing equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Ensuring suitable and accurate FIT testing records are maintained for staff and ESR updated. Ensuring training records for other training provided under Risk Assurance Team umbrella is updated on ESR
- Take notes, prepare calendars, reports, and actions for meetings, ensuring timescales are achieved
- To assist the Risk Auditor in the preparation of data and reports
- To manage investigations recorded on Datix, allocation of incidents to managers, and ensuring compliance with timescales and policy. Producing reports of number of incidents, outstanding actions and any data that could lead to further investigation
- To maintain records from Central Alerting System (CAS) received into Trust, disseminate to appropriate leads, record actions and produce monthly report to Health and Safety Manager
- Undertake audits of a variety of data and systems to inform the Risk Assurance Team of trends and concerns
- To coordinate facilities for staff on a day-to-day basis, including maintaining supplies; ensuring all office equipment is fully functioning, that faults are reported promptly and that adequate consumable supplies are available to ensure continuity of service
- To manage departmental systems, accurately creating and collating additional works requests, small works requests, variation orders and capital bids for approval by the management team
- On request, the post holder will be asked to carry out additional duties equal to their role and level of responsibility
