Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity that have arisen for motivated individual to join the Informatics System Support Team as a Junior Systems Support Officer.

Experience working within the NHS and a clinical system configuration role is required.

The main role of the post-holders is to provide clinical system configuration support and support to customers across the health economy. This will includelogging of system issues/requests raised by customer to ensure timely resolutions are met.

Responsibility housekeeping reference files for relevant systems and developing good communication links with other departments throughout the health economy will be required in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge base and catalogue of services.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide application support to the users of the hospital's clinical systems managed by the HIS in order to ensure appropriate and optimal use of digital technology.
  • To work with the relevant clinical and HIS departments to ensure the successful and safe implementation of clinical systems and successful operation under Business as Usual (BAU).
  • Assisting the Hospital in implementing new clinical systems or enhancements to existing systems to improve clinical workflows and processes.
  • Create excellent relationships with system users, project staff and other relevant departments.

The Junior Systems Support Officer role sits within The Digital Systems team, who provide system support to users of the clinical systems within the trust and local CCG's.

  • Ensure all procedures are tested and made available to other relevant members of the team to ensure continuity of service and information governance adherence.
  • Work with staff both within and outside informatics to ensure system knowledge is maintained at a high standard.
  • Support the creation of SOPs/processes to support system optimisation
  • Support the design of test scripts to ensure the system is tested in accordance with best practice standards.
  • Provide support for users, testers, suppliers for test activities
  • Support an effective administration service so that documentation is raised as required and stored in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • Support and assist the reviewing and resolution of issues assigned in call logging software
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient data at all times, by awareness and compliance with existing legislation and good practice, for example Data Protection Act 1998; Caldicott principles and recommendations; local policies and procedures.
  • The location/base of this role may change at any time, and the post-holder will work across numerous sites.
