An excellent development opportunity has arisen to join the Theatre Team at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated individual to join our highly skilled and dedicated team of Nursing, ODP and Medical Staff as a Theatre Team Lead.

The role consists of the day to day management of the Theatre department at Whiston and St Helens hospitals, to include line management responsibility for the service specialty.

The post holder should be committed to providing first class care to all patients, and must have excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

An Enhanced DBS Certificate with the checking of both the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists is required for this post.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day supervision of a dedicated team of staff ensuring the delivery of a safe, cost effective clinical care.

Supporting the Operational Leads in promoting and implementing the principles of the6C's;

Care:Courage:Commitment:Communication:Competence:Compassion as per Trust strategy and the delivery of the departmental/Trust targets.

Thepost holderwill provide professional support to the team.

Actively participate in clinical/infection prevention audits with the team and develop action plans.

The post holder is responsible and accountable for day-to-day supervision and leadership of a designated team of staff to supporting the operational lead in achieving the delivery of a safe, cost effective clinical care service and environment.

The post demands a research based professional approach to underpin clinical leadership decisions, develop individual staff and nurture a cohesive team to achieve continuous quality improvement and delivery of best practice peri-operative patient care.

The post holder will be responsible for a team supporting the operational lead to promote the principles of the productive theatre programme and contribute to achieving improvement in services and key performance indicators for the Care group/Trust.

The role requires the ability to act in capacity of theatre coordinator on a regular rotational basis or as necessary to deliver service requirements over a 24 hour period 7 days a week.
