Job summary
Microbiology is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Support Medical Secretary to join the team. The postholder will support the office administration and provide an efficient and effective referral service to the Microbiology team. The postholder acts as the first point of contact for staff and patient queries.
This vacancy is being advertised as an apprenticeship and as such the salary for the role if reflectiveof this. Those who currently hold and can evidence the essential qualifications need not apply. Yourapplication will not be shortlisted if you hold the essential qualification(s).
Although English and Maths at level 2 is not required for the role, it is a requirement to complete theapprenticeship and need to be in place by the end of the apprenticeship. If you do not hold or cannotevidence English and Maths at level 2 then support will be provided for the successful applicant(s) aspart of the Trust's apprenticeship offer
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming calls and e-Referrals from the Microbiology Advice Line. You will provide administrative support to the Microbiology Consultants and their team, deputise in the Medical Secretary's absence, and undertake general office duties.

- RSA Level II word processing or equivalent
- Experience of audio typing
- Experience of working in an administrative role.
