Job summary
Working in the Outpatient Department across Arrowe Park, Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital, Breast unit at Clatterbridge Hospital and Victoria Central Wallasey the Clinical Support Worker (CSW) is responsible for providing healthcare to patients and supporting with basic clinical duties under the supervision of Registered Nurses, doctors and other registered healthcare professionals.
Their role is essential in ensuring the well-being and comfort of patients ensuring they receive high quality care.
CSW's are required to work within the multidisciplinary team ensuring the department is a safe, clean and welcoming place for patients, visitors and staff.
Day to day tasks will primarily include supporting with a range of care activities, supporting individual patient needs and undertaking a range of clinical duties in line with personal training, competence levels and Trust policy.
CSW's are fundamental to the implementation of individual patient care and will work under the direction of registered professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care. Provide and support patients as necessary with both personal and clinical care.
Main duties of the job
- Maintain accurate records of the patient's care, documenting as appropriate on the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner) in line with Trust, professional and departmental guidelines.
- Observe patients and report any changes to a Registered professional for review.
- Report any abnormal findings directly to the registered professional in charge or doctor.
- Undertake a range of basic observations, and clinical skills with appropriate training you will be able to perform skills such as ECG recording, Venepuncture, Bladder scanning, urinary flow tests, chaperone patients during clinical examinations, and assist in clinical procedures using ANTT.
