Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Clinical Specialist Nurse to work within the IBD service within Gastroenterology in the Medicine Division.
The team consists of 5 Luminal Consultants, 1 Nurse Consultant and 2 IBD Specialist nurses.
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and organised individual, who can communicate effectively. You will be expected to work well independently and as part of a team to ensure high quality of patient care.
This role is an ideal starting position for anyone who wants to develop their nursing skills within the specialty of Irritable Bowel Disease. The role will be based across Monday-Friday 9-5pm.

Main duties of the job
The Nurse Specialist will provide support for the patient and family from diagnosis of IBD through treatment and throughout the care journey. Using advanced communication and psychological assessment skills the CNS will aim to assess and alleviate the psychological distress for IBD patients and their families, including identification of need for onward referral to other agencies and disciplines as appropriate
