Senior Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive pharmacy technician to join our ward-level clinical team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.We are a busy department and are looking for a highly motivated individual that shares our vision and is looking for a new challenge.

It is essential you can work accurately under pressure and possess the ability to manage and prioritise your workload efficiently ensuring a high level of professionalism, alongside providing a high-quality service to our patients.

You will gain experience across a variety of clinical specialities and so it is essential applicants are patient-focused, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are passionate about upholding Trust values in order to provide the best possible service.

We welcome applications from community pharmacy staff, or candidates from other sectors of pharmacy seeking new experiences or are keen to develop their skills in a different area of practice.

  • NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services / BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
  • Accuracy checking accredited certificate
  • Experience of working as a qualified technician
  • Working as an accuracy checker in a dispensary or on a ward/ other clinical area
  • Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems

Desirable

  • NVQ A1 workplace assessor
  • Experience working in hospital pharmacy
  • Preferably JAC stock control system
  • Audit design
  • Working with automated dispensing systems
