Senior Clinical Coder

Job summary

We are looking for an accredited coder who is competent in accurately coding multiple complex specialities and who understands the need for high quality coded data that supports healthcare planning, reimbursement, management of services, statistical analysis, and research.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours) based at Clatterbridge Hospital, with opportunity for hybrid working and flexibility with working times to support our employees with a healthy work/life balance.

Main duties of the job

Lead a small team of clinical coders providing appraisals and check ins

Provide mentoring and feedback to junior staff

Responsible for own coding workload ensuring timeliness of work as well as accuracy

  • Significant clinical coding experience post Standards/Foundation course and post NCCQ

  • Educated to degree level
  • Attendance on Clinical Coding Workshops
  • Experience of Clinical Coding Audit
  • Membership of professional organisation
