Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Radiology department is looking to recruit a Clinical Practice Educator Facilitator to join our team We require applications from enthusiastic radiology healthcare professionals with the relevant clinical experience and a passion for clinical education to lead the training and development agenda for the radiology department.
We are looking for an experienced radiographer who is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with proven facilitation and leadership qualities. You will be involved in delivering high standards of care whilst providing support, training and education to our radiographers, radiography students, assistant practitioners, apprentices, and clinical support workers promoting best practice and ensuring there is a standardisation of clinical technique.
You will need to demonstrate excellent clinical, leadership, teaching and communication skills. You should have at least three years' experience in a busy radiology department and have extensive knowledge of all aspects radiography technique and patient care. You should be confident to share knowledge undertake teaching and training sessions make assessments of professional practice and be able to action plan and set objectives to enhance competency. Proven teaching history along with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. The post holderwill be required to support the breadth of the student experience.
Main duties of the job
To ensure all radiography students and assistant practitioner trainees are supported throughout their time within the Trust, assisting with Induction, roster planning, Assessor/Mentor co-ordination, training and support.
Support teaching sessions such as tutorials and 1-2-1 with learners in Imaging to include Apprentices, Assistant Practitioners, Support Workers, Radiographers, Nurses and Radiography students.
Contribute to the development, planning and organisation of the continuous professional development of Imaging staff. To assess training needs, implement and deliver in service training, both practical and theoretical to students and qualified staff. Supporting and facilitating the development of clinical practice mentors/ practice supervisors, providing supervision and support structures in order to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.
Promote image optimisation collaborating with the reporting team.
Leading on the structuring and coordination of interprofessional learning activity across a the radiology service.
To work with the the North West Higher Education Institutions, NHS England and other local trusts and the private Sector. Coordination with the North West Imaging Academy and the CAMRIN network.
