As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients undergoing both elective and emergency surgical procedures. Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
- Clinical Leadership:Provide advanced, evidence-based perioperative care across the surgical pathway, ensuring safe and effective practices in anaesthetics, scrub, or recovery roles depending on your specialism.
- Team Support and Supervision:Act as a role model, mentor, and supervisor for junior staff and students, supporting their professional development and promoting a culture of learning and accountability.
- Emergency Preparedness:Coordinate and respond effectively to emergency cases, ensuring the multidisciplinary team is supported and all protocols are adhered to under pressure.
- Patient Safety and Quality Care:Ensure all clinical care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies, infection prevention guidelines, and safeguarding procedures, always placing patient dignity and safety at the forefront.
- Service Efficiency:Support the efficient running of theatre lists and the day-to-day coordination of activity within emergency and general theatres, liaising with the theatre coordinator and wider surgical team.
- Audit and Improvement:Contribute to clinical audits, incident reporting, and service improvements, helping to drive high standards of patient care and ensure compliance with regulatory and Trust standards.
- Resource Management:Assist in managing staffing levels, skill mix, and equipment resources, ensuring theatre readiness and safety at all times.
