Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated registered nurse to join us in the Wirral Stoma Care Team.
The role covers hospital and community. Seeing patients pre and post operative. Assessing planning and implementing care for these patients and their carers.
Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients undergoing Stoma surgery.
- Identify and assess progress +/- complications and advise treatment options available.
- Assist with the development of clinical services within stoma care.
- Assist in the planning of specialist nursing provision in hospital and community setting.
- Act as a resource for primary and secondary care settings offering highly specialist education and training.
- Communicate sensitive and complicated clinical information to patients and carers relating to condition where there may be significant barriers to acceptance.
- Identify the need for and undertake research, clinical audit, benchmarking, and equipment trials in order to improve effectiveness of patient care.
- Disseminate research and audit findings to professional groups through presentation and publication.
- Collect, collate, evaluate, and report information maintaining accurate patient records.
