Job summary
We currently have 2 vacancies for Band 6 Senior staff nurse. You must have significant critical care experience at Band 5, hold a post registration qualification in Critical Care, have high compliance with mandatory training compliance, mentorship qualification or equivalent.
Needs to show evidence of professional development.
The successful candidate must be flexible and have an innovative approach to caring for the critically ill, an ability to introduce change to develop and encourage evidence based nursing practice.
This post is rotational between ITU and HDU and is also rotation of days and nights. Full and part time hours available
Main duties of the job
The provision of all aspects of critical care in the absence of the sister/ charge nurse.o Acts as a specialist core team member, initiating critical care nursing.o To be professionally and legally accountable for own actions.o Takes responsibility for the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care for an individual patient within the critical care area. Having set objectives and planning care to achieve these.o To demonstrate a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of specialist critical care throughout the wide range of complex patient conditions.o To gain and maintain proficiency in specialist clinical skills and knowledge required in the provision of critical care throughout a wide range of different specialities.o To care for the critically ill patient at any period, and throughout any procedure (e.g. perioperative care), during their stay.?
