Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk post on Ward 27 that will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward. A successful candidate will be privy to sensitive information in relation to patient's confidential information.
This role has a wide variety of administrative tasks that need to be completed. The role is ideal for someone who has willingness to learn new skills, can work in a busy environment. The vacancy is for 30hrs/week, and the working hours will be from Monday to Friday 09:00-15:00.
Main duties of the job
- To check demographic details are correct on admission and discharge.
- To arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals/departments.
- To answer the telephone, taking messages or transferring calls as appropriate.
- To co-ordinate outpatient appointments with clinic clerk prior to discharge.
- To prepare any discharged patients paperwork for scanning
- To provide support to nursing staff for general patient requests
- Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment
