Job summary

WUTH Radiology department is looking to recruit a Band 5 Radiographer to join our General X-ray team. We require applications from highly motivated, forward thinking, enthusiastic, team playing radiographers to join the team on a full time basis.

We are a friendly, busy, dynamic team who are committed to delivering an excellent service with patient care at the centre. The X-Ray staff enjoy a wide variety of modalities to rotate around, as well as multiple sites.

We have 4 sites for staff to rotate around, giving an opportunity to see a range of different patients and work in different environments. This allows for staff to advance their learning and skills.

Shift patterns can include weekdays, weekends and nights. Alongside our flat-week shifts, we offer the opportunity during the shift rotation pattern to work full time hours over 3 extended days, which has been warmly received by the current staff highlighting an improved work-life balance.

The rota is a mix of Mon-Fri 9-5, 3 Long Days, 3 evenings or 3 Night shifts, with staff rotating through the different options. The ability to swap these with colleagues has allowed staff to be able to more flexible and given staff a more varied work flow.

A preceptorship programme along with an individual mentor, is offered to ensure new starters are aware of our working processes before undertaking any out of hours duties and to ensure new started feel fully supported and integrated into the team.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work across all 4 sites across WUTH.

You must be able to work extended days and shifts patterns to meet the demands of a robust 24/7 service for Main X-ray.

You will also participate in an on call system.

You will have the opportunity to work through a variety of modalities, across multiple sites in differing environments.

Applicants must hold the BSc in Radiography or the DCR(R) and be HCPC registered.
