Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the service on a fixed term funded position. This is to work as an Exercise Physiologist in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team. The role will involve assessing patients with a chronic respiratory condition, supporting pulmonary rehabilitation exercise programmes and delivering education to patients in an 1:1 setting and a group setting . The role will be supported by a Senior Exercise Physiologist in Pulmonary Rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills.
Main duties of the job
- Assessing patients via telephone and face to face
- Working with an online system to complete comprehensive notes
- Prescribe exercises for patients following an assessment
- Digital Pulmonary Rehab Platform
- Good case load management
- Completing Discharge Assessments

- Membership of relevant clinical interest groups e.g. BACPR, BASES, REPs
- Demonstrable experience of the application of exercise physiology in regards to exercise assessment and training
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of exercise training in relation to cardiorespiratory disease.
- The ability to perform and demonstrate a range of exercises for those attending clinical sessions
- Experience in the safe and correct use of a range of exercise equipment
- Basic IT skills
Desirable
- Experience of using software for developing A&R and presentations
- Good clinical reasoning skills based on evidence and current research.
