Job summary
We are looking to recruit a forward thinking, highly motivated and experienced nurse leader who will champion a high level of professional standards and excellence within the division. This post covers Gynaecology Ward, Gynaecology Outpatients Department and Breast Services at our Clatterbridge site. The post holder will work across Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital sites.
As a Matron you will be highly visible and accessible to patients, visitors and staff and will focus on improving the fundamental and essential aspects of care.
The role will be overseeing the quality of care within the Gynaecology and Breast Services. You will be working alongside Consultants, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Senior Nursing managers and Specialists' Nurses.
The successful applicant with have worked in a leadership role at band 7 or above. Training and development opportunities will be offered and bespoke to individual needs.
Main duties of the job
- Set and monitor clinical and non-clinical standards as and when required, take action to ensure high quality patient focus service in line with operational plan.
- Work in partnership with Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses/Clinical Leaders to ensure the delivery of quality care, holding individuals and teams to account for performance against key indicators.
- To present as a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic role model providing leadership, guidance and advice on both operational , clinical and professional issues.
- Ensure ward/clinical areas comply with national standards of cleanliness for NHS.
- Empower and motivate team members to maximise their skills, knowledge and potential, with particular reference to the Chief Nursing Officers 10 commitments and the Trusts Nursing, Midwifery and AHP workforce strategy.
- Lead service development ensuring the best use of all resources using effective benchmarking systems.
- Work in partnership with ADN, Divisional Managers and Clinical Directors to ensure national and local priorities and standards are met.
- To facilitate and lead in a positive, flexible and strategic manner.
