Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital is seeking to recruit a modern apprentice Business support & administration worker to support the directorate of perioperative medicine in their day to day operational activities. If you are a dynamic thinker and able to work as part of a collaborative team then WUTH is the organisation for you.

This vacancy is being advertised as an apprenticeship and as such the salary for the role if reflective of this. Those who currently hold and can evidence the essential qualifications need not apply. Your application will not be shortlisted if you hold the essential qualification(s).

Although English and Maths at level 2 is not required for the role, it is a requirement to complete the apprenticeship and need to be in place by the end of the apprenticeship. If you do not hold or cannot evidence English and Maths at level 2 then support will be provided for the successful applicant(s) as part of the Trust's apprenticeship offer

Whilst this role is being advertised as a fixed term position, there is an expectation that the successful applicant must complete all elements of the apprenticeship. The successful applicant will be placed on a fixed term apprenticeship contract for the duration of the programme. Leading up to the completion of the apprenticeship, the successful applicant will be supported in finding alternative employment opportunities.

Main duties of the job

We can offer you a comprehensive training package supporting you to gain a business support and administration qualification. Through enrolment into an apprenticeship, you will be expected to complete your apprenticeship within 15 months of your start date. Your initial apprenticeship pay rate is defined by the duration of the apprenticeship; your pay will increase throughout the duration of your apprenticeship when specific milestones are met. Following successful training you will be offered a full time position. This scheme is open to all who want to develop in business support and administration.

In order to apply you will need to provide evidence of your GCSE Maths and English. Don't have them - don't worry, we can support you with functional maths and English development. Unfortunately if you hold other qualifications you may not be suitable for a Modern Apprentice post.
