We are recruiting for a Neonatal and Infant feeding baby friendly co-ordinator, to join our level 3 unit.The Neonatal baby friendly co-ordinator will be responsible forco-ordinating the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) Neonatal Unit Standards to achieve BFI Neonatal accreditation, following BFI Neonatal Unit Guidance.
Main duties of the job
oResponsible for co-ordinating the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) Neonatal Unit Standards to achieve BFI Neonatal accreditation, following BFI Neonatal Unit Guidance.The purpose is to improve outcomes for babies and families' experience.The standards are:o Support parents to have a close and loving relationship with their baby.o Enable babies to receive breast milk and to breastfeed when possible.o Value parents as partners in care, act as an ambassador for the unit and attend and represent at divisional and regional meeting.o Provide leadership and specialist advice in all aspects of infant feeding support in collaboration with the NICU neonatologists and unit manager. Support the development of close parent-baby relationships with parents as partners in care, in collaboration with the multi-professional team and in line with local and national standards.o Participate in Fi Care accreditation

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have an enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
As this vacancy is within the division of Womens and Childrens, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
