Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Digital Healthcare Team.

This is a pivotal analytical role in support of the Chief Operating Officer, Trust Business Improvement Team and other Corporate Services.

This role requires in-depth understanding of current NHS performance reporting and targets, experience in activity planning and monitoring, and the ability to advise on the practical application of national performance guidelines in relation to operational services.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Analyst within the Business Intelligence Team, the postholder will take the lead on supporting the COO's office and Trust Business Improvement Team in analysis for national and local reporting of activity and performance monitoring. Particular areas of expertise required are in relation to Referral to Treatment and associated waiting time standards, Cancer pathway reporting and elective recovery planning and monitoring. Working with colleagues in the Business Intelligence Team there will also be the requirement to support other national and mandated reporting to deadlines as required.

All members of the Team contribute to the development and promotion of the Trust's Business Intelligence function and Digital Healthcare Team Strategy.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Must have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification or relevant NHS experience in an Information/business intelligence Department
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting large datasets
  • Experience of using Business Intelligence tools e.g. SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau, etc
  • Experience of working in an analyst role with secondary care data / information e.g. inpatients, outpatients and waiting lists.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, NHS data standards and definitions
  • IT skills to allow full use of MS Excel (macro level)

Desirable

  • Experience managing projects
  • Undertaking or completion of post-graduate training, or equivalent experience, to achieve expert status in information analysis and in the use of MS-Excel.
