Job summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Speciality Doctor to join our existing team of 8 consultants and 2 SAS Drs who offer both general and specialist Ophthalmic services such as glaucoma, retinal and eye casualty.
Whilst we are looking to recruit into a 10 PA job plan, we can offer flexibility of a reduced job plan if desired.
The ophthalmology service is supported by an excellent team consisting of Nurses, Orthoptists, Optometrists and Specialist Imaging Staff.
Main duties of the job
The principle role of the post-holder is to be an active member of the team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to rotate between sub specialities such as Glaucoma, Medical and Vitreoretinal, minor ops, Diabetes and General Ophthalmology Clinics . We encourage the personal development of our Speciality Doctors. The post-holder is key to the team and is expected to take a teamwork approach to relationships with other departments, clinic and theatre staff.
The post-holder is invited to contribute to academic, audit and clinical governance issues within the department and the Trust.

- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise
- Shall have completed at least 4 years' full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or Shall have equivalent experience and competencies
Desirable
