We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and forward thinking Technician to support our highly specialist Integrated Pharmacy Aseptic service.
As the successful candidate you will support the delivery of a high quality, proactive and patient focused pharmacy aseptic services, that meet national and local standards whilst supported by a superb team of highly specialist, experienced and dedicated aseptic and clinical staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Work in our licensed aseptic unit which supports clinical pharmacy services by providing adult and neonatal TPN, cytotoxic reconstitution and CIVAS.
Support the Head of Production to develop and future proof our Pharmacy Aseptic Services via program of collaboration, product rationalisation and increasing external sales.
Be responsible for the preparation and supply of quality parenteral medications either dispensed or manufactured in accordance with good manufacturing practice (GMP) and other local and national guidelines.
Provide clinical training, guidance, support and supervision of our technical team., and other pharmacy staff as required.

- To be named as the production manager on the manufacturing specials licence. The postholder will liaise with the MHRA regarding all issues relating to the manufacture of products under licence. This will include attendance at inspection visits at the request of the MHRA.
- Ensure that techniques and procedures used within aseptic services comply with all current statutory obligations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) the requirements of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and other appropriate professional guidelines.
- Using specialist aseptic knowledge, manage and develop the aseptic dispensing and manufacturing service ensuring it is safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective.

- Professionally registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Experience of setting and maintaining high standards of Aseptic services and for technician development
- Evidence of innovating practice and implementing services developments and evaluating outcomes using audit tools
- Experience of providing staff education and training and developing staff training packages including leading workshops and preparing presentations
Knowledge and Skills

- Management training course or equivalent experiential learning together with proven record in management of services, staffing resources
- Excellent working knowledge of hospital Pharmacy Aseptic services
- Negotiation with service users, department staff and trust staff which can involve contentious issues
