Job summary
We are looking to appoint a trust Decontamination Lead to ensure that the decontamination services to the Trust are provided in an efficient and compliant fashion.
Reporting ultimately to the Deputy Director of Infection Prevention & Control, and will work closely with the Infection Prevention Control Team, Sterile Services manager, authorised engineer for decontamination and all other relevant managers and staff.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing expert professional advice on the decontamination of re-useable medical devices and patient shared equipment; and providing specialised technical expertise, advice and training on decontamination to groups of staff in the Trust, including advising on business cases and equipment purchase.
You will also be required to provide advice on the development and implementation of the Trust decontamination policy and strategy and ensure system capacity.
Liaising with Estates and Facilities colleagues, you will ensure that development schemes and lifecycle replacement of the decontamination infrastructure are carried out in a compliant and timely fashion while ensuring continuity of decontamination services to the Trust.
The Trust Decontamination Lead will be an advisory role but has responsibility for ensuring that the decontamination services to the Trust, including the off-site properties, are provided in a compliant fashion, and that the Trust structure is statutorily compliant and appropriate to the needs of the service.
Reporting ultimately to the Deputy Director of Infection Prevention & Control, the Trust Decontamination Lead will liaise with all relevant staff and ensure that the decontamination services are provided in a compliant manner.
