An exciting opportunity is available for an exceptional and enthusiastic band 2 Clinical Support Worker, with an interest in gynaecology to become an integral member of our team in the Women's and Children's Gynaecology Outpatient Department. Gynaecology experience is desirable but not essential. The role will involve supporting registered Nurses and Doctors in caring for Women attending outpatient appointments. This is a fast-paced outpatient department and includes general Gynaecology clinics, Rapid access, Oncology, Colposcopy, Urogynaecology, Fertility, Endometriosis and Pre operative assessment.There also will be time that you will support the inpatient Gynaecology area. The post holder needs to have NVQ2 in Healthcare.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering highstandards of patient care within gynaecology outpatients.The successful candidate will support the nursing and medical team to provide safe and effective care for patients during their appointment within the unit. This will include, recording patient heights and weights, setting up of clinics, infection prevention and control will be integral aspect of daily duties as will chaperoning the clinical team, and advocating for the patient.

Key personal characteristics include: Caring and kind, Able to follow instructions and procedures, Able to work in a team, but use own initiative, Wiling to be hands on with patient care, Communication skills, including listening, Organisational skills, Observational skills.
