Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join a fantastic team within General Medicine/Renal on Ward 33.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in general medicine to support the ward manager to ensure the delivery of a high standard of care to all our patients.

You must be highly skilled with excellent clinical knowledge, demonstrating a clear understanding of the trusts values

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will support the ward manager with the leadership and management of care provision within the ward, ensuring a visible supportive presence at all times.

You will also be responsible in ensuring that high standard of evidence based practice is delivered at all times.

Essential

  • 1 st Level Registered Nurse (relevant to area of work)
  • Relevant diploma / degree or due for completion within 12 months
  • Minimum of three years post-registration experience of which two years should be at Primary Nurse or equivalent

Desirable

  • Management qualification
  • Recognised teaching qualification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Relevant Clinical knowledge/experience of the speciality
  • Relevant Clinical knowledge/experience of the speciality
  • Evidence of an initiative which has changed or enhanced clinical practice
  • Competent in organising own work load and that of others
