Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Registered General Nurse to join the Corporate Nursing Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital as Corporate Medicines Management Nurse.

The role will involve raising the profile and understanding of Medicines Management throughout the organisation.

The post holder will be a credible clinician and be visible in all clinical areas of the organisation. They will have Professional Accountability to the Associate Director of Nursing, Corporate Nursing.

This is a twelve month fixed term placement within the Corporate Nursing Team. The experience gained will give the post holder an overall strategic view of the different specialities and areas for improvement.

Main duties of the job

As Medicines Management Nurse, the successful applicant will work as a nurse within wards across all divisions to gain knowledge of medicines management issues, share information with other staff and identify and propose solutions for improvement.

They will be working under the direction of the Trusts Nursing , Pharmacy and Quality Improvement teams to facilitate and support improvement by piloting and implementing good practice with respect to Medicines Management.

As part of the multidisciplinary team they will participate and lead on developments in clinical practice with respect to the safe and effective management of medicines including medicines storage, supply and nurse and self-administration.
