Job summary

WUTH Radiology department is looking to recruit a B7 Radiographer to join our up and coming General X-ray team.

We require applications from highly motivated, forward thinking, enthusiastic team playing radiographers to join the team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be required to manage on a daily basis the General imaging areas within the Radiology Department.

To be accountable for ensuring the patient flow through the department.

To exercise the ability to assess what needs to be done and plan activity to ensure that tasks and objectives are achieved.

To supervise the team of Senior Radiographers, Radiographers and Support Staff.

To undertake all General Imaging examinations including ED, Inpatients, Outpatients, Paediatrics and Dental Examinations..

The department is forward thinking and supportive of advanced practice and has Radiographers undertaking MSK and Chest Reporting.

The successful candidate will be expected to uphold Trust Core Values and behaviours and challenge practice.

Applications are welcome from Radiographers with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.

Applicants must hold the BSc in Radiography or the DCR(R) and be HCPC registered.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder is responsible to the Deputy Radiology Services Manager.
  • To manage on a daily basis the General imaging areas within the Radiology Department.
  • To work as the appointed RPS for the General X-Ray department
  • To be accountable for ensuring the patient flow through the department.
  • To deal with any complaints as and when they arise
  • To exercise the ability to assess what needs to be done and plan activity to ensure that tasks and objectives are achieved
  • To manage a team of Senior Radiographers, Radiographers and Support Staff
  • To undertake all General Imaging examinations including ED, Inpatients, Outpatients, Paediatrics and Dental Examinations and mobile examinations

  • HCPC Registered
  • Post graduate experience or qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Senior radiographer
  • Previous supervisory experience of a team of radiographers and support staff in general radiography.
  • Experience of supporting and teaching undergraduate student radiographers
  • Evidence of involvement in service development or improvement projects.
  • Up to date CPD portfolio

Desirable

  • Qualification in Supervisory Management
  • Leading small scale service improvement projects
