Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join our friendly multi professional team to undertake stereo biopsies, vacuum assisted biopsies, and excisions, magseed and wire localisations and mammography. You will have the PG Certificate in Mammography, have also undertaken the X-Ray guided Breast Interventional Biopsy Module and be HCPC Registered as a Radiographer to provide a fully comprehensive breast service to the women of the Wirral.

We are committed to promoting Advanced Practice and have a Consultant radiographer in post as well as Advanced Practitioners

You must be dedicated and committed to providing a high quality service to our patients customers and colleagues and have a flexible approach to working and be part of a team who provide a fully integrated breast service to the women of the Wirral.

Main duties of the job

To carry out mammography and associated specialist interventional procedures: stereotactic guided core biopsies, vacuum assisted biopsies and excisions, wire and magseed localisations

To write an Radiology report of the interventional procedures performed

To be able to work autonomously, assess, manage and prioritise workload

Attend and participate in multidisciplinary team planning meetings

Undertake personal and developmental audit

Essential

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography
  • X-Ray Guided Breast Interventional Module

Desirable

  • Previous supervisory experience of a team of radiographers and support staff
  • Experience of supporting and teaching undergraduate student radiographers

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of Breast Screening Service
  • Understanding of both the Ionising Radiation (Medical exposure) regulations 2017 and the Ionising Radiation regulations 2017
