Access Team Leader (Inpatients)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an Access Team Leader. We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent individual to provide managerial and administrative support to the inpatient access team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the line management of the access team whilst occasionally providing wider support to other teams in the division. You must be a flexible team player with good communication skills and previous experience of a busy office environment in a healthcare setting.
In addition, skills, knowledge and experience required for this post:
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, management and Supervisory skills.
- Excellent organisational skills - ability to organise and co-ordinate effectively and be able to work under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and GP's and staff,
- You will be required to have excellent IT skills including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of variety of booking schedules for a centralised service, working collaboratively with all divisions to ensure all national targets and departmental KPI's are delivered.
Contribute to the continual review and evaluation of all administrative systems and procedures and associated policies in order that improvements and developments can be made.

To operationally lead Departments departmental/divisions systems: recruitment and selection, staffing Admin team.
Responsibility for daily management of staff ensuring effective administrative running of the service in terms of both systems and equipment: implementation and maintenance of office/related issues.
Using initiative to ensure patients are booked in line with local and national access targets.
To work in the Access Team environment supporting the Elective Access Manager to provide a professional efficient and effective centralised booking service for a variety of Inpatient / Outpatient/ schedules, ensuring KPIs are maintained.
To undertake IPDR and 1-2-1 sessions within the access team.
Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of annual leave and absence management processes, statutory and mandatory training attendance and other HR polices for the administrative team within the business unit.
Monitor staff sickness levels in accordance with the Health and Wellbeing policy and carry out formal consultations through the stages as outlined in the policy. ensuring that ESR is fully updated and maintained.
Plan, organise and prioritise own workload and for the wider team while accepting direction and delegation from Elective Access Manager and/or Deputy divisional director of Operations.
Offer divisional support in transformation workstreams
Be responsible for induction and training of new staff members on local processes for the Access Team.
Use independent judgement to problem solve.
