Job summary
To support the implementation of all aspects of the Periprem Bundle.
Acting as a skilled practitioner, the post holder will lead and support others in undertaking aspects of the Periprem toolkit.
Main duties of the job
- Work in partnership with the Neonatal and Maternity Management Teams to achieve Trust objectives associated with Periprem.
-To acknowledge and act on all concerns raised including investigating, escalating and dealing with the concerns where appropriate. To share the learning outcomes of incidents and complaints with the appropriate teams and demonstrate changes in practice as a result of complaints and incidents to embed a culture of learning.
- To support the embedding of multi-disciplinary clinical audit across Maternity and Neonates ensuring that patient care reflects the Trust and Care Groups Quality Strategy, and that it meets clinical governance standards.
- Work closely with the Saving Babies Lives Lead Midwife to identify themes and champion innovation and communication to support.
- Produce monthly summary reports compliance, themes, changes in practice and areas of learning incidents.
- Develop and implement a system for communicating regularly to staff groups.
- To act as an advocate in relation to babies and their families who are vulnerable or at risk from harm, neglect or abuse.
- To assess the effectiveness of current practice within Maternity Services and introduce innovations that lead to improved quality of care.
