Responsible for maintaining service stock levels within Intensive Care. Accountable for ordering, receipt and distribution of all consumables for critical care services.
Main duties of the job
Receive, inspect check and store all delivered items.
Ensure stock rotation to eliminate wastage.
Assist in compliance with field safety notices of equipment.
Maintain stock levels and dynamically amend according to unit acuity and activity.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work and close liaison with clinical staff .
Liaise with multiple departments, both within and outside the trust to ensure safe and timely provision of services.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the unit. division and trust.
Report any problems with supply to the appropriate manager.
Ensure all storage areas are maintained and operated in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
Act as a central point of contact for all staff on the unit to offer advice on equipment and consumables.

Will be responsible for the day to day management of supplies, including equipment and consumables for the critical care unit. To include all aspects of ordering, receipt, storage and distribution of all said goods in the unit across both stock and non-stock supply chains. Utilisation of NHS supply chain processes and when required requisition direct from companies direct via external requisition processes.
To support and liaise closely with the SCN/SSR in Critical Care for Equipment Environment and Consumables to ensure safe and effective stock levels of a wide variety. Rotate and organise stock in a practical and effective manner adapting to periods of acuity and higher demand accordingly.
Act as a single Point of contact to all staff for stores matters, communicating effectively changes, adaptations and new equipment. Liaise effectively with other departments in supply chain, namely distribution, procurement, other clinical areas and supplying companies to foster excellent working relationships. Promote and enhance the quality of patient care by effective management of stock and foster initiatives which could improve the patient experience of the service delivered.
Liaise with both internal and external staff regarding management of stock, to include stock loaned to other areas, stock rationalisation, delivery issues, over stock, errors in ordering, obsolete, expired and withdrawn items.
Escalate product related issues and urgent field safety notices or MDA notifications to management appropriately.
In order to maintain infection control standards ensure all stores areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner, with clear and secure/appropriate storage solutions in place.
To participate in activity with the Division to manage and develop the service in line with national and local requirements ensuring the delivery of performance targets, development of best practice and the service improvement agenda.
