Job summary
Decontamination, cleaning, dis-assembly, re-assembly, packaging and returning to shelf daily living equipment, to include monitoring and the operation of this equipment.
Main duties of the job
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and processed in accordance to health and safety, COSHH and infection control procedures
Inspection of equipment for cleanliness, functionability, completeness, assembly in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
Packaging of equipment in accordance with ICES policies and procedures
Loading and unloading of equipment into decontamination washers/dryers/disinfectors
Checking of specified operating parameters/consumables in washer/disinfectors, recording all failures within accordance to the ICES policies and procedures and reporting to the supervisors
Ensure quality control standards are achieved and adhered to

Current working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 - 16.30, these hours may move to a shift operating over 7 days

Job responsibilities
- Preparation for washing contaminated equipment and daily living aids which include dismantling of complex items in accordance with manufacturers instructions
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned and processed in accordance to health and safety and infection control procedures
- Inspection of equipment for cleanliness, functionability, completeness, assembly in accordance with manufacturers instructions
- Packaging of equipment in accordance with ICES policies and procedures
- Loading and unloading of equipment into decontamination washer/disinfectors
- Checking of specified operating parameters/consumables in washer/disinfectors, recording all failures within accordance to the ICES policies and procedures and reporting to the supervisors
- Ensure quality control standards are achieved and adhered to
- Transportation around ICES warehouse of equipment which includes manual handling of equipment
- Carry out duties in the warehouse area including deliveries from suppliers
- To replenish stock in the Warehouse and make sure stock is rotated
- Use handheld device to move stock from decontamination to available stock
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy
- Complete routine checks to decontamination machine and that it is used correctly
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals
- To liaise with supervisors and managers to assess information and performance monitoring requirements
- To complete any training that is necessary for your role which includes any changes to the national guidelines
