Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Divisional Director of Nursing within the Division of Medicine and Long-Term Conditions, to join our high performing and dedicated Senior Nursing & Midwifery Leadership Team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.The Trust is working collaboratively with The Royal Wolverhampton Trust to improve patient care. Walsall a large market town and Wolverhampton is a modern and vibrant city. Both are in the Black Country and are part of the Black Country Provider Collaborative and within easy reach of Birmingham and rural Staffordshire.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an ambitious individual who, as part of the divisional senior management team will be responsible for leading and developing a culture that ensures the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of patient care.

The Divisional Director of Nursing is a very senior role within the Division and is responsible for the professional Leadership of the Nursing team within the Division.

You will be someone with excellent leadership and communication skills who can positively engage with patients, families, staff, senior multi-disciplinary leadership teams and other partners, continually innovating and driving forward the Trust's shared vision of continuous improvement, providing safe, effective, and high-quality care for all our service users.

Being flexible, proactive, responsive and sensitive to the needs of both staff and service users is essential alongside demonstrating kindness and civility in your approach to leading both the agenda and teams.

About us

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and brand new, state of the art Emergency Department is in the process of being completed.
