Job summary

The post holder will develop their practice working autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the Oncology/ Chemotherapy service to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and support treatment plans within an agreed scope of practice throughout the speciality.

The post holder will practice advanced assessment skills in presenting with differential and un-differential diagnosis, decision-making and problem-solving skills for patients, and work to improve outcomes.

The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral, and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.

Main duties of the job

About us

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oncology Trainee ACP to join Walsall healthcare NHS Oncology Service. We are looking for innovative, forward-thinking clinicians who have a background in Advanced Practice. We will consider interviewing people who have completed, or working towards the Masters in Advanced Practice and are looking to develop into the advanced role.

We are looking to recruit positive, forward thinking individuals who are highly motivated, work under pressure and can manage complex care in the hospital setting. The role of the Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner is dynamic and the post-holder will be proactive in pioneering and developing this role further.

The successful candidate should have or working towards Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice. They will develop their autonomous clinical practice, providing clinical assessment, requesting diagnostic interventions and participate in patient treatment planning decisions developing a holistic plan of care for cancer patients we serve.

The postholder will join our team of Oncology medical and nursing teams to provide support and maintain excellence of clinical care for patients with cancer undergoing treatment.
