Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner/Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work within The Hospital at Night Team at Walsall Manor Hospital. The team covers all medical wards during the out of hour's period within the Medicine and Long-Term Conditions Division.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join and support the development of the ACP team. The post holder will be working towards completing their MSc in Advanced practice or have already completed the MSC in Advanced practice.

The post holder will have previous experience working in acute medicine as an ACP, Trainee ACP or nurse practitioner and demonstrate excellent leadership skills whilst working autonomously. Whilst the clinically focused role encompasses the requirement to manage patient care plans, the post holder will also be expected to develop and deliver teaching and education programmes that support the further development of junior and trainee clinicians within the acute medicine environment.

The post holder will be required to carry out a full range of practical procedures and clinical skills pertinent to their role and have high communication skills, ensuring all aspects of management, leadership and quality of care.

About us

The Hospital at Night Team currently covers a 7-night-a-week service and weekend days with allocated time for ongoing training and development and is an active member of the medical emergency and cardiac arrest teams. While tACPs will be considered, their NC time will be used to complete educational portfolios and competencies. All qualified ACPs will be afforded an 80/20 clinical/non-clinical split with time to learn, lead, develop and research within the Medical and Long-Term Division.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a progressive team of ACPs looking to improve the quality and safety of the care delivered out of hours. We envisage that the successful candidate will be able to perform a function as part of ward cover and the acute medical take team depending on service requirements
