Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Facilities Manager - Catering, within Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, Estates & Facilities Division.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and willing to manage the provision of the Catering service. You must have great organisational and motivational skills, be a team player and leader and have demonstrable experience of managing Catering function in the NHS to undertake the role. You will be responsible for the coordination and management of a team of Catering staff in delivering an effective, efficient, safe, patient focused and resourceful service within the Hospital.

The Facilities Manager - Catering is responsible for delivering a high quality, safe, efficient and effective food provision to patients, staff and visitors across the organisation.

To manage the Catering Supervisors and the Catering Department on a day to day basis ensuring all aspects of the service provision are complaint with statutory, best practice and local requirements

The post holder is a key member of the Facilities Management Team and, at the discretion of the Senior Facilities Manager will be required to undertake projects and weekend and out of hours work together with other duties in addition to key responsibilities of the role

Job responsibilities

To manage and supervise all areas of Catering including Catering Stores on a day-to-day basis in line with Trust Vision and Trust Values.

To manage the day-to-day activities of the Catering Department and line manage the respective Supervisors of the department.

To plan and monitor staffing for new departments and or changes to service requirements within the Catering department and assist with new projects.

To maintain compute records for the Catering department.

To ensure that the outlined service specification is met, using auditing systems as provided for the department.

To liaise with Management on service provision and respond to any additional requests that are outside the normal working routine. To monitor the budget for Catering and Catering Stores and ensure the budget is not exceeded. To monitor the orders raised by Catering Stores and resolve issues as they arise.

Experience
