  The Pharmacy Department has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated Pharmacist to join the team. As a key member of the Oncology and Aseptic teams you will work directly alongside Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Non-Medical Prescribers, Pharmacy staff and with the wider Healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering clinical Pharmacy Services to a range of specialties. You will be committed to the provision of highly specialist professional, clinical and scientific information and advice to Multidisciplinary Healthcare staff, patients and carers by using excellent communication and mentoring skills. The role requires strong prioritisation and time management skills to enable you to work efficiently and effectively as part of the wider healthcare team. You will have the highest level of commitment to patient safety and be dedicated to delivering outstanding medicines management.
The Oncology and Aseptic Pharmacy team comprises Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant Technical Officers. You will be a highly valued member of this team and the wider Pharmacy team as well as the Trust Oncology Multidisciplinary team. In addition you will be a role model and mentor for Foundation Pharmacists.
Training and development opportunities are fully supported to enable all staff to achieve their potential. The post includes a weekly late duty and participation in the on-call, weekend and bank holiday rota.
  Main duties of the job
  Key responsibilities include:
   - To work as an authorised pharmacist responsible for the supervision of aseptic processes and product approval.
- Supporting the clinical Pharmacy service to the specialist oncology support ward areas.
- To act as an Authorised Pharmacist.
- To actively assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, quality systems, internal audits and improvements within the Aseptic unit.
- To tutor Pre-Registration Pharmacy graduates and undertake multidisciplinary teaching and supervision of less experienced Pharmacists, Technicians and students.
- To work within the clinical pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and clinically effective use of medicines for oncology and haematology patients on the inpatient ward and outpatient chemotherapy unit.
- To work closely with the Quality Management System to make improvements to the aseptic service, including completing and implementing audits, change controls, RCAs, reviewing and writing SOPs and trust guidelines
- To participate in inpatient and outpatient dispensing services.
- To participate in the pharmacy on call, weekend and bank holiday services.
You will be a non-medical independent prescriber or working towards this qualification.
