Job summary
Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, ambitious and highly motivated Specialty Doctor in ENT (Otolaryngology) to join a well established, progressive and supportive team on a flexibly-employed basis.
This post is based at Dorset County Hospital, a modern acute hospital located in the county town of Dorchester. The majority of the post holder's clinical activity will take place at the Trust, however some outpatient clinics and day surgery lists are held at community hospitals within the Dorset area and Yeovil District Hospital Foundation Trust.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION & TRAINING
Essential
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise is required
- MRCS Part A and Part B, DLO or DOHNS (or equivalent)
- Completion (or completed the majority of) higher surgical training in Otolaryngology
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Minimum of 4 years (or its equivalent gained on part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in specialty training programme or as a fixed term specialty trainee or Specialty Doctor within ENT (Otolaryngology).
- Capable of independently undertaking operating lists and outpatient clinics
- Recent and Significant UK experience
- Experience in a special interest that will complement those existing in the department
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Possession of the clinical skills required to perform the job as defined in the technical specification
- Ability to cope with the demands of a hospital based Specialty Doctor
- Ability to assist and develop the service
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
AUDIT & RESEARCH

- Knowledge of clinical audit principles and evidence of direct involvement in audits in the last 18 months.
