Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative Band 5/6 nurse to join our Infection Prevention Management team for a 1-year secondment working 22.5 hours per week. We are looking for a self-motivated experienced nurse who possesses good written and verbal communication skills, works well within a team whilst being able to work autonomously. They need to able to influence others, prioritise work and have a flexible approach.
The role is varied and includes promoting best practice in Infection Prevention Management (IPM). Supporting the Trust agenda in meeting national and local targets in Infection Prevention Management (IPM) ensuring the highest quality care with dignity and respect to patients, staff, and visitors. Providing specialist advice and guidance for staff and patients, analysing and interpreting data using our clinical surveillance system.
The main duties of the job include working with the rest of the IPM team in managing healthcare associated infections, support staff in the clinical areas to minimize the transmission of infections. Engage in change and improvement initiatives.
Main duties of the job
- The job holder will be required to develop close working relationships with the Infection Prevention Management Team, Consultant Microbiologists, Microbiology Team as well as the nursing, medical and facilities team throughout the trust.
- To provide advice and support to clinical teams working in the Trust to ensure adherence to good practice in infection prevention management issue.
- To act as an advisor within the Trust and utilising and disseminating specialist skills and knowledge to all staff groups, patients, and visitor.
- To be visible and accessible to staff, patients and visitors acting as a role model at all times.
- To participate in the development of training programs and deliver training as required to Trust staff.
- To support the daily organisation of the service inthe absence of IPM Lead Specialist Nurse or Specialist Nurse for Infection Prevention Management.
- To supportthe delivery of the IPM work program.
