Location: Hybrid (Dorchester County Hospital 3 days a week, remote up to 2 days a week)

Hours: Full-Time (37.5 - we are flexible on when these are worked)

Contract Type: Fixed term (until March 2026)

Role Overview: We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts and use the latest digital learning tools to create engaging and effective eLearning content for DCHFT staff. This role is ideal for someone passionate about learning, with a high level of computer literacy looking to build a career in eLearning development.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of digital learning content using various eLearning authoring tools.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce engaging and value-adding interactive content, that enables our people to do what they do best.
  • Support the administration, maintenance and enhancement of existing eLearning materials.
  • Participate in user testing and gather feedback to improve the learning experience.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in digital education and eLearning.

The post holder will be expected to communicate on a daily basis with:-

Subject Matter Experts Staff working at all levels across the Trust Outside agencies

The post holder will:-

Provide and receive routine complex information from staff at all levels across the organisation, and external contacts. Negotiating persuasive, empathetic or reassuring skills are required.

Plan and organise multiple complex work activities programmes, over various different timescales.

Programmes and work activities will need be evolving and will rely on national and local changes in specific educational competencies and ICS requirements.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders coordinating and arranging initial meetings to discuss an eLearning project. Manage the project from initial discussions to final published content on the Oracle Learning Management System.

Provide data for reports to be submitted to various committee and boards.

Where appropriate write and produce training support materials for users and support learners with any access related issues to learning content.

Any other duties commensurate to the grade and as requested by line managers.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Qualified to a degree or equivalent level or relevant experience IM&T areas
  • Knowledge of a range of a areas acquired through relevant eLearning professional qualification NVQ LV 4/5 or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Use of instructional design concepts and storyboarding for eLearning
  • Experience of authoring eLearning content within the last 3 years
  • Good working knowledge of learning management systems
  • Good working knowledge of learning management systems
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining administrative processes across numerous projects

Desirable

  • Experience of using MS Teams

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential

  • Proficient in creating interactive multimedia content including quizzes, using authoring tools such as Articulate or other authoring software.
  • Testing and troubleshooting to ensure the best user experience
  • Update and amending existing eLearning content
  • An interest in furthering own knowledge in education and willing to undertake training specific to the role
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Evidence of ability to respond quickly to changing priorities organising and prioritising own workload to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong verbal, written and active communication skills
