Main duties of the job

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Junior Analyst to join our team.

The post holder will be required to work as aJunior Cybersecurity Analyst within the DTI Department for Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. They will be part of the Cyber Security team under the direction of the DTI Cyber Security Manager. The post holder will be required to perform an operational role in providing DTI services, support, and projects to ensure the Trust's cyber security posture is maintained to the highest standard.

The role will be to be actively involved in project work and technical support resolution/escalation.

Working in conjunction with the technical support team, the post holder will administer and maintain aspects of the Trust's digital infrastructure, such as applying updates, and patches and upgrading legacy systems.

Supporting a programme of work to enable the Trust to achieve its Cyber & Information Security compliance requirements and objectives.

Supporting and undertaking projects as agreed with line managers to achieve and improve compliance with Cyber Security standards.

Person Specification

Educationan, Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • 5 x GCSEs (must include English and Mathematics)
  • Educated to relevant degree level or equivalent level of experience, and/or proven track record of working at a similar level in a specialist area'.
  • Cyber Security based Certification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience
  • Actively undertaking further Cybersecurity relevant qualifications/certifications/training

Desirable

  • Certified attendance at courses (or proven ability through experience working with): SIEM solutions
  • Certified attendance at courses (or proven ability through experience working with): Network security applications
  • XDR tools

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Technical experience using complex security technologies including Vulnerability Scanning Tools, Web proxies
  • Technical experience using complex security technologies including Microsoft Security Suite and IoT maintenance

Desirable

  • Technical experience in a complex Microsoft environment including Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server and PowerShell scripting.
  • A good understanding of GDPR, ISO:27001 and security technologies.
  • Technical project experience including planning and implementation of new technologies.
  • A good understanding of Linux operating systems
