People Promise and Retention Manager (DCH and DHC)
This job is now closed
Job summary
Are you motivated by the opportunity to improve staff engagement and retention?
At Dorset County Hospital and Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust we are already doing lots of great work to improve staff experience and retention and we are beginning to see positive results. Our participation in the national People Promise programme will allow us to collate, compare and then consolidate the activity we are already doing and help us to identify the next high impact interventions.
As our People Promise and Retention Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and embedding all elements of the NHS People Promise within the two organisations. You will work collaboratively across the organisations and ICS and with other designated People Promise Managers to maximise opportunities to retain staff across the NHS and Social Care. There are colleagues doing the same role in other organisations regionally and nationally, creating a useful community of practice.
Main duties of the job
The People Promise and Retention Manager will develop and monitor a robust project plan to ensure the co-ordination and embedding of all aspects of the NHS People Promise into the organisations by working closely with colleagues to identify all activity and interventions already taking place. A robust tool will be provided to assist the postholder in identifying any gaps in People Promise delivery.
Following this assessment the post holder will work closely with colleagues within the two organisations, the ICS and regionally to identify suitable actions and interventions to fill any gaps in delivery of People Promise areas. They will also need to develop and monitor robust metrics and report on progress towards the identified project plan.
The successful candidate will be educated to masters level or have an equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in relevant specialist area, including HR, OD, Workforce, Staff Experience/Engagement and Retention. Experience of successful project management is also essential.
About us
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the experience of NHS staff in Dorset.
The post can be based at either South Walks House Dorchester or Sentinel House Poole, but there will be a requirement to attend both Trust sites so a car and driving licence will be needed.
We are a Trust that celebrates diversity and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We would welcome applications from people in groups which are under-represented in our organisation.
