Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic, patient-focused data administrator to join our Young People's Diabetes Service (YPDS) at Dorset County Hospital.
Good communication skills and computer literacy are essential, alongside great attention to detail and time management skills. Any previous data entry experience or experience of working within a healthcare setting would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
This post would suit those who thrive as part of a team but are also able to work alone with guidance and support of others.
Main duties of the job
- To contribute to the collection of data and the evaluation of the service as part of the NHS England pilot programme.
- The post holder will liaise, communicate, and work closely in conjunction with other collaborative services that deliver 16-25 age diabetes clinics.
- To establish, maintain and coordinate the Young Person Diabetes Service (YPDS) databases and the development of robust data analysis.
- Will be responsible for checking the quality of data entered into the YPDS databases and filing systems to ensure that all national standards are maintained and reportable.
- To ensure patients who attend the service are captured within the databases and all necessary information and results are recorded.
- To collaborate with respective adult and paediatric administrative teams or stakeholders in primary and secondary care to ensure systems remain robust and the service runs smoothly

Essential
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English at Grade C or above
- Willing to undergo further training related to the role
- Ability to use computer systems for clinical purposes and/or data recording
- Database training or equivalent experience in Microsoft Excel
