Band 6 Cross Sectional Radiographer

Dorset County Hospital are looking for a motivated and experienced MRI Radiographer to join the team providing additional flexible working shifts to the MRI team.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Dorset County Hospital is a cohesive, friendly and forward looking department. We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all Diagnostic Imaging staff and are very proud to have recently achieved the Quality Standard for Imaging.

Main duties of the job

We have two Siemens MRI scanners performing a wide range of imaging. The post holder will be providing additional ad hoc shifts to supplement the current MRI team.

About us

Dorset County Hospital is in the county town of Dorchester and has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol and London. It is a wonderful town for young families with excellent schools and local amenities. Dorchester is a delightful place to live and work with the choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Weymouth has a wide variety of water sports and night life available and Dorchester has undergone a big regeneration recently with plenty of bars and restaurants for all tastes.

Essential

  • HCPC registration.
  • DCR / BSc diagnostic radiography.

Desirable

  • Post graduate training in MRI.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Considerable postgraduate experience in MRI

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in MRI
  • Evidence of participation in clinical governance.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary imaging team.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Essential

  • Understanding of clinical governance and how it relates to Diagnostic Imaging service.
  • Ability to facilitate multiDisciplinary working.
  • Knowledge and skills relating to MRI
  • Ability to organise and manage the daily running of MRI
