Job summary
The clinical practice educator will work collaboratively with the senior sisters/matron within the Ilchester to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care.
She/he will facilitate continuing education, training and professional development for all Ilchester nursing staff .and promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
She/he will develop and participate in education programmes to ensure that nursing staff acquire the professional standards and competencies when caring for people.
The role will be split with two clinical shifts a week and two CPE days
Main duties of the job
- To provide high standards of evidenced based care for patients and their families
- To provide skilled nursing care and supervision of the nursing team in delivering an effective service.
- To continue personal professional development and be responsible for developing others.
- To demonstrate sound leadership and managerial skills.
About us
Ilchester is a 32 bedded until consisting of 7 isolation cubicles.
Ilchester is take admissions from the emergency department and transfer patients across the trust and promote safe discharges to a place of safety being Coho or home.
The successful applicant will be offered an orientation programme from the practice educator team and will be provided with mentorship and coaching from a member of the Band 7 team. The post holder will also be encouraged to expand their role within the limits of their Professional status and attend additional educational opportunities within the Department and Trust.
