Job summary

The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the management of cancer patients on the Oncology & Haematology ward at Dorset County Hospital and to contribute to clerking patients on the acute medical take.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties include daily round of inpatients with the support of a Core Medical Trainee and a consultant and haematology registrar and there will be opportunities to attend outpatient clinics and work on the acute medical take.

The post holder will take appropriate responsibility for investigations and management of inpatients and develop skills in medical procedures, including lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy and chest drain insertion.

Valid national certification and recertification every six years as stipulated by PAMVR

BA/BS Degree prior to undertaking PA program

Basic or Advanced Life Support

Knowledge & Experience:

Awareness of current developments and initiatives in NHS services.
