Job summary

Are you a dental hygienist looking to add variety in your working life? We have a vacancy to provide maternity cover for our hygienist. The post will be for one day per week on a Tuesday and available form October 2023 for 4 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for a further 6 months.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work with children, young adults and adults who need orthodontic care. You will play a major role in ensuring the oral health of our patients.

Main duties of the job

You will:

  • Work with the orthodontists to assess the oral health needs of our patients
  • Deliver personalised preventative advice and periodontal care to a spectrum of patients
  • Work as part of a team to deliver of high quality, patient focussed care

You have:

  • a diploma in Dental Hygiene
  • full registration with the GDC
  • appropriate indemnity cover with a Dental Protection provider

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Desirable

  • Previous experience treating all types of patients, working either in Hospital, Practice or Community

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Minimum)
  • Full Dental Hygiene Registration with GDC
  • Registration with BSDHT
  • Member of an appropriate Dental Protection Society

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Essential

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Have a good understanding of cross infection control within the dental surgery
  • Knowledge of confidentiality in the work place
  • Have an understanding of Clinical Governance
