Job summary
We would like to invite Registered Nurses/Paramedics who are keen to support the care of our medical patients. The ward is relatively newly set up and now seeks to recruit further to its permanent staffing cohort.
We are looking for applicants who are organised and can use their own initiative whilst being flexible to frequently changing situations, to work alongside the senior nursing team and allied health professionals.
This is permanent position located on Evershot Ward which is a 14 bed ward caring for acute medical patients at Dorset County Hospital with an emphasis on Endocrine conditions such as Diabetes.
Main duties of the job
The post requires excellent communication skills, with a range of health professionals in relation to patient admission and discharge, to support the working of the team with internal and external agencies and fellow professionals and to support safe and effective patient discharges from hospital and assist with patient flow.
You will have:
- Excellent caring, empathetic nursing skills to look after the acutely medically unwell patient
- Proactively advocate for your patients
- Good communication skills and can engage with the multidisciplinary team effectively
- The ability to use your own initiative and make informed professional decisions
