We are seeking to recruit a Simulation Fellow in Anaesthetics & ICM to commence from September 2023 for 1 year. This post is designed to support the department and Trust progress our simulation programme.

Main duties of the job
This post will be ideal for trainees who are completing Core Training and looking for additional experience in obstetrics and ICU and can be counted as a CT3 'top-up' year. You will be allocated an educational supervisor and we will ensure that you are supported in developing the clinical and non-clinical aspects of your CV. The Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at DCH has a longstanding reputation as a supportive environment for training in anaesthesia and ICM.
Previous experience in anaesthesia is required for this post, initial assessment of competence (IAC) required, ideally 24 months experience but other applicants with less experience will be considered. An anaesthetist competent in obstetrics anaesthetics (i.e. achieved initial assessment of obstetric competency, IAOC) would be desirable but not necessary.

Successful candidates will be appointed at ST3+ level according to their previous experience and competence. This post will include daytime and night time cover of the Intensive Care Department.
The successful applicant will join the dynamic, progressive, forward thinking Anaesthetic Department. You would join a young and enthusiastic team providing anaesthetic services for all surgical specialities excluding cardiac and neurosurgery. The successful applicant will be expected to fully participate in the general running of the anaesthetic services including a sessional commitment to Intensive Care.
The department is dedicated to supporting the development of their doctors and therefore study time and funding is available to successful applicant.
