Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our dedicated team.

The post holder will be required to work as a DTI Cybersecurity Engineer for Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. They will be part of the DTI Cyber Security team under the direction of the DTI Cyber Security Manager. The post holder will be required to perform an operational role in the provision of DTI services, support, projects and ensure the trusts cyber security posture is maintained to the highest standard.

The post holder's role will be to be actively involved in project work and technical support resolution / escalation.

Working in conjunction with the technical support team, the post holder will administer and maintain aspects of the Trust's digital infrastructure, such as applying updates, patches and upgrading legacy systems.

Supporting a programme of work to enable the Trust to achieve its Cyber & Information Security compliance requirements and objectives.

Supporting and undertaking projects as agreed with line managers to achieve and improve compliance with Cyber Security standards.

Essential

  • 5 x GCSEs (must include English and Mathematics)
  • Educated to relevant degree level or equivalent level of experience and proven track record of working at a similar level in a specialist area
  • Cyber Security based Certification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Significant technical experience in a complex Microsoft environment including Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server and PowerShell scripting
  • Excellent understanding of GDPR, ISO:27001 and security technologies
  • Strong technical project experience including planning and implementation of new technologies
  • Proven experience of supporting an enterprise Linux server estate, providing troubleshooting and resolution
  • Proven DTI technical experience in a complex security technology including Anti-Virus, SIEM, Asset Management, Email Security, Vulnerability Scanning Tools, Web proxies, Microsoft Security Suite and IoT maintenance
